His background in animal health, production systems, and organizational strategy provides a comprehensive perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
Jay earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University after completing undergraduate and graduate studies at Illinois State University. He serves as CEO of The Maschhoffs, one of the largest family-owned pork production networks in North America, where he leads a team of executives and supports a workforce of approximately 760 employees. His leadership emphasizes data-driven decision making, workforce development, animal care, and long-term sustainability.
Jay has been actively engaged in state and national pork industry leadership, contributing to policy and strategic discussions that shape the future of production agriculture. He is particularly focused on animal health, labor availability, regulatory policy, and infrastructure resilience. Jay supports science-based governance and practical solutions that strengthen the competitiveness of U.S. pork producers.
