PorkPAC

What is the Program?

PorkPAC is the political action committee of the National Pork Producers Council. It allows the U.S. pork industry to educate and support candidates at the federal level whose views coincide with the interests of pork producers, processors, marketers, consumers, and the pork business.

Why Does it Matter?

A financially strong PorkPAC strengthens NPPC’s grassroots, communications, and public-policy programs to counter the well-coordinated and well-funded activities of opposition groups. PorkPAC leverages and multiplies the pork industry’s financial stake in the political process, and PAC contributions increase the pork industry’s visibility and access to candidates who share the industry’s views on legislative and regulatory policies. It also increases the pork industry’s political credibility as a way to hold lawmakers accountable for their actions.

Pork producers who want to contribute to PorkPAC: Becoming part of the U.S. pork industry PAC gives producers an active and unified voice in the political process, timely information on political activities in Washington, D.C., and the potential for interaction with key members of Congress, the administration, and federal agencies.
