Pork Leadership Institute

The Pork Leadership Institute (PLI) is a joint training program of the National Pork Producers Council and the National Pork Board designed to develop future leaders. PLI is a comprehensive training program after which graduates can confidently and accurately spread the pork industry’s story—from Main Street to the nation’s capital.

PLI welcomes 15 to 20 future leaders to the program each year. Producer candidates are identified and nominated in a coordinated effort of state pork association executives and NPPC field representatives.

Applications for PLI are released in late October and are due late November, with the final participant roster announced mid-December. If you are interested in being a part of the next PLI training program and becoming a pork industry leader, contact your state executive or Lucy Russell.

If you want to experience the professional and personal growth as a leader in the pork industry while having fun and creating lasting relationships, then PLI is for you.
I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to go through the Pork Leadership Institute. If you are interested in the long-term success of the pork industry you should go through the program. I was able to do some great networking and made friendships for life.
