Manager of International Affairs
Government AffairsCole Spain serves as the Manager of International Affairs for the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC). In his position, Spain monitors and analyzes issues important to the U.S. pork industry’s trade objectives by attending Congressional hearings, briefings, and international trade missions. He also supports the development and implementation of NPPC positions on international issues.
Prior to joining the International Affairs team, Spain worked for NPPC as a Regional Manager of Producer Services increasing participation in the Strategic Investment Program (SIP).
Spain grew up near Castalia, Iowa, on his family’s diversified livestock and crop farm. He earned a M.S. in International Agriculture at Oklahoma State University and has a B.S. in Agriculture and Life Sciences Education from Iowa State University. He participated in numerous related industry leadership roles and activities in college. Notably, he served as an Iowa Pork Producers Association Pork Youth Ambassador in 2018 and participated in the Oklahoma Pork Council’s Pork Industry Group in 2022.
