Board of DirectorsCraig Edsill, raised in northeast Iowa as the son and grandson of hog buyers, developed a deep-rooted passion for the pork industry from an early age. With a career spanning over 40 years in the meat sector, Craig currently serves as CEO and Chairman of Clemens Family Corporation.
Founded over 130 years ago, Clemens Family Corporation remains a family-owned business. As head of Clemens Food Group (CFG), the corporation’s primary entity, Craig oversees a workforce of 5,500 and manages annual revenues totaling $2.5 billion. CFG operates a vertically integrated system, including a 110,000 sow to finish operation, two feed mills, two hog harvest facilities, four further processed facilities, and a substantial trucking operation with 125 vehicles.
Craig has led CFG in strategic investments exceeding $1.5 billion in recent years. These investments include acquiring significant hog operations in North Carolina, Indiana, and central Pennsylvania, as well as establishing new state-of-the-art facilities like the Coldwater, Michigan hog harvest facility and a large processing plant in eastern Pennsylvania.
In addition to his role, Craig is actively involved in industry leadership. He serves on the National Pork Producers Council Board of Directors as the Packer Processor Industry Council Director and holds an executive board position with the North American Meat Institute. He also contributes his time to the Indian Creek Foundation, a non-profit supporting individuals with mental disabilities.
Craig holds degrees in finance, accounting, and computer programming from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa and has completed the Northwestern University Kellogg Advanced Executive Program.
Craig and his wife, Lee, reside in southeast Pennsylvania. They have four daughters and four grandchildren.
