Operations & State and National RelationsHarrison Furlow serves as the Manager of State Pork Industry Relations as part of a multi-faceted pork industry immersion program led by the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC), National Pork Board (NPB) and state pork associations. In his role at NPPC, Furlow supports the State and National Relations team by engaging niche, independent and show pig producers on NPPC resources, participation in the Strategic Investment Program and key state and national policy issues. He also collaborates with team members, state associations and external stakeholders on policy resource development, congressional relations and grassroots engagement.
Before joining NPPC in October 2024, Furlow completed the first rotation of the immersion program with NPB. His professional experience also includes working in agribusiness in Lubbock, Texas, and interning with NPPC’s communications team in Washington, D.C.
Furlow holds a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Iowa State University. While completing his studies, he competed on the collegiate dairy judging team, worked for the university’s beef teaching farm, and served in leadership roles across several on-campus organizations. Originally from northern Virginia, he grew up actively involved in 4-H and livestock judging, and raised pigs, beef cattle and goats.
