Michael Formica is the Chief Legal Strategist for the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC). He is responsible for developing and implementing the organization’s legal strategy on the most important issues facing the pork industry. He builds broad coalitions and works closely with the White House, congressional lawmakers, and federal and state agencies on regulatory and legal issues impacting pork producers.
Formica previously worked for two trade associations and in private legal practice.
Formica was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated from the University of Rhode Island where he earned a B.A. in political science. He then attended law school and earned his J.D. from Vermont Law School where he founded the schools influential environmental law journal.
He’s been recognized by his peers as one of the nation’s top lobbyists and received the Excellence in Agricultural Law award from the American Agricultural Law Association.
