Board of DirectorsPat Hord serves as CEO of Hord Family Farms, a fifth-generation family farming operation located in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and surrounding states. They raise approximately 8,500 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat and hay, in addition to caring for 47,000 sows and pigs from birth to market. They also feed approximately 1,200 beef cattle per year, operate 3 grain elevators, employ 350 team members and partner with more than 200 farmer swine growers.
Pat currently serves on the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) Board of Directors and represents producers on various national committees, including NPPC’s Budget Committee, Tax Task Force, SIP Marketing Committee, and Political Action Committee. Pat also serves on Wendy’s Animal Wellbeing Committee, which is a sounding board for management on issues related to animals.
Pat’s local leadership includes membership on the Ohio Pork Producers Council Executive Committee, Crawford County Economic Development Board, and serving as the current board chair for the Lifewise Academy Board.
Pat is a member of Crossroads Church and actively involved in Crawford Works, a non-profit he and his wife started, which serves to coach underemployed/impoverished county residents in life skills that will help them sustain employment long-term.
Pat and his wife Janel have been married for more than 35 years and reside on their family farm near Bucyrus, Ohio. They have four children; Phillip (wife Becca, 3 granddaughters), Colleen, Mallory, and Melissa (husband Rob).
