Robert “R.O.” Britt brings a career grounded in environmental stewardship and regulatory strategy to serving pork producers. His experience navigating complex policy environments provides valuable insight into balancing operational efficiency with responsible environmental management.

R.O. earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Ecosystem Assessment from North Carolina State University. He manages environmental affairs for Smithfield Hog Production, leading initiatives related to environmental compliance, grower partnerships, and producer coordination. His work centers on developing practical, science-based solutions that align environmental responsibility with business performance.

He has served more than a decade on the Virginia Pork Council Board of Directors, including as president in 2024, and has participated in national task forces and industry policy discussions. R.O. champions responsible farming practices, trade access, grassroots advocacy, and long-term profitability to help ensure a resilient and sustainable future for pork producers.
