Joe Popplewell brings more than 30 years of hands-on production and executive leadership experience to advancing the interests of pork producers. His career spans commercial production, genetics, and integrated operations, providing a broad understanding of the operational realities facing the industry.

Joe holds a Master of Science degree from Oklahoma State University and serves in a leadership role with Tyson Foods. Throughout his career, he has held management and director-level positions with PIC, Seaboard Foods, and Tyson Foods, overseeing responsibilities ranging from boar stud management and gilt development to wean-to-finish operations.

Joe has served the Oklahoma Pork Council for more than a decade, including four terms as president, and has participated in various NPPC committees and programs. He is committed to addressing labor shortages, regulatory burdens, and protecting producers’ freedom to operate. His leadership emphasizes accountability, workforce development, and practical, science-based policy solutions.
