Wendy Brannen is the Vice President of Communications and Marketing for the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC). In this role, she leads NPPC’s strategic communications efforts, ensuring the organization’s voice is consistent, credible, and aligned with its mission. Wendy builds strong relationships with reporters, stakeholders, and producers to drive collaboration and deliver impact across the pork industry.

With two decades of experience in agricultural trade association communications, Wendy most recently served as the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications for the American Soybean Association (ASA). She joined ASA in 2018 as Director of Policy Communications and assumed department leadership in 2019. Throughout her tenure, she led media relations and strategic outreach during pivotal industry moments, including two trade wars, the COVID-19 pandemic, and major policy debates involving biotechnology, the farm bill, infrastructure, pesticides, conservation, biofuels, and international trade.

Wendy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, with an emphasis in broadcast journalism, from the University of North Florida and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia. A former news anchor and reporter in the southeastern U.S., she brings a blend of media expertise and agricultural insight, rooted in her upbringing near her family’s row crop farm in rural Georgia. Her previous roles include Executive Director of the Vidalia Onion Committee, communications lead for the U.S. Apple Association, and Executive Director of the Lodi Winegrape Commission in California.
